Awakening

Awakening

A Poem by Drowning In Reality

Awakening

God speaks all languages

God embraces all religions

All peoples

All Creation

Every act of love

Holds a miracle

Every act of compassion

Brings us closer to God

I celebrate this gift of Life

Through what I send out

Into the world

Rewards are threefold

Silence holds more wisdom

Than the longest sermon

When heard in the arms

Of the someone I love

I see the face of God

Through listening to my heart

And looking deeply into

The eyes of the other

Gratitude remains my greatest prayer

Surrender an act of courage

Compassion a selfish act

Truth found in disagreement

Opposition lights my way

Strengthens me to face What Is

Which I must accept unconditionally

To create a tomorrow that’s good
