Rebirth

Rebirth

A Poem by Drowning In Reality

Rebirth

Ing makes things grow

I grow from Earth to Air

Wondering when it will end.

Reality weighs me down

I do not long for death.

I do not fear it anymore either.

What will be is what will be.

I long to touch soil again

Spring is here and the rebirth has begun

I long to see things grow under my care.

I long to use this energy potential

I carry in abundance

God can no longer be heard

Over the blare of the city streets

Humanity is deaf to the birds

Which sing to us from above

They tell us of beauty from on high

Now they are smothered by man’s inhumanity to man

It is said that religion re-links the Earth to the Sky above.

We are instruments of the Divine Union.

We receive Energy from above

And send it deep into the Earth below

We are grounded by Earth’s energy

Passively applied by the rotation on its axis

We experience the atmosphere.

We are the atmosphere.

The Divine Union proceeds from here

It is within me and without.

I am the phallus of Life

In a womb of Energy

man! thats some deep musings ... in your first verse i think...ok...Spring is here ..winter leaving ..we're going to plant a garden but then the second verse started turning my thoughts to one of the goddesses of spring and re-birth ..since i am Irish ..lets say "Brigit (Celtic) In her maiden aspect this Goddess is honoured at the festival of Imbolc which celebrates the first stirrings of Spring." ..
then embracing all religions and the sought for connection that exists in a real, spiritual and metaphysical sense ... but its your closing that captivates and really challenges me to think about all this ... i like your poem ..the theme is my cup of tea ...free verse is easy flowing and has enough structure to keep it together so to speak.
