Ballad of FreyrA Poem by Drowning In RealityBallad of Freyr Freyr controls our environment. He plows hardscrabble land Seeking prosperity. If it bears fruit, Freya yields His harvest. Freyr remains to tend.
He sings his jeremiad in the night. Abed he plays ‘til dawn Enjoying the
nuptial bliss Of a giantess named Gerd. Wooed by his servant, Skirner In exchange for Freyr’s sword
When Ragnorok ensues, Freyr’s time will cease. The fire giant Surt, His malefactor, will dominate. Sun and rain will vanish Humanity will end.
The Soul of the Earth will mourn our loss After we sow what we've reaped. The teachings of old lost Only Our Angels Will remember Our songs.
Harvest requires effort Sacrifices made. The earth demands reverence. Her Will be done Harmony preserved. As preached by All
The realm of the physical The gift of matter Divine. Cherish Now. Tomorrow never comes And yesterday already gone.
We are Now Go Do With love And an opened heart
Such is Freyr's Song Long live life Blessed Be
