Autumn Lament

Autumn Lament

A Poem by Drowning In Reality

Autumn Lament

On this final day of autumn

The wind blows lustily

Rain floods the gardens

As with The Tower,

The garden that was lies dormant

Green only taunts us

Through the brown

Random leaves still blow

On nearly empty trees

I try to look at this

Height of Mab’s power

As a renewing time

As many before me proclaimed

But it’s so dull and grey

Turmoil abounds

Vivaldi can’t express

The day that is now.

Father Time checks his watch
