Scarlet

Scarlet

A Poem by Sam

The last bleeding wisp

of wind engulfs my misery

Petrified, in this dying

night, the sweetest of my fantasies.

Or is this reality that is sorrounding me?

like the dew soaked

blades of grass calling me.

But my peace

shatters me with the

scarlet stained green.

Like horrible phantoms

that cannot be contained

I yearn for you..

unceasing, unending.

Sad faithless misery..

The scarlet beads

so innocent flow freely

down that image

staring right back at me.

Through those distant shadows

of time wanting, needing

to get hold of me

But I step away.

No looking back. My

conquest.. slain, DEAD.

The corpses off all good in me

call out for recognition, haunting me

yet in such serienity..

Their lustful gaze on

the soul, yearnings unanswered

yet never told

Truth steraming from

their pores.. they say

"look at us...we are yours"

I walk away, encomposed

the liquid darkness

drowning me. I am home.

Distant lights call no more

Acceptance. Lost in war.
