A wolf's howlA Poem by ItwasonceuponatimeWhen I look at the stars alight at night I wish you were there holding me tight, Your hand on my hip and your smile on my lips. As the wind blows while I write these words I hear it say "He will never be yours!" So i lift my hands, run them trough my hair, Smile wide and enjoy the air, Look for memories of his gaze, the memories of those days I smile and say back "never have I said he was mine to keep." For only happines is what I wish for him. The air stills and the sky clears As the wind howls off the cilff "Your sorrow I shall share, for it is too much for one person to bare." A tear escapes my grip and a smile forms on my lip "That sorrow is not yours to take, as it is all I have left of his face" The sorrowful wind carreses my cheek as even he cannot bear such grief. "I see know what was set in stone, for his heart never to be yours" Like a wolf he howls once for my soul for he will be the only one that will ever know.
