inferiority

inferiority

A Poem by Billy
"

a constant feeling of uselessness gets me down again

"

i am

always ashamed

never really happy

well, at least not for long

pessimistic

and constantly negative

a sad disposition most of the time

others are

interesting

help you have a good time

and make you feel happy

not nearly as negative

as i am

others

have a chance

to do something

with their lives

and with other others

while i do nothing

but dig a grave

the others dont talk like this

they say happy things

try to have fun

try not to worry

but i cant

something always goes wrong

and if not

then at the very least

hurts

i hate me

i love others

i dont deserve happiness

they do

for them, this, surely is no way to live

but for me, it seems fitting

so i accept it

an ending written before the story has even begun

a life of pain

loss

worry

heartbreak and heartache

doesnt have many options

so i must change it

rewrite the book

my life depends on it

for it is my story

but without motivation

nothing will change

i wont let this happen

"rest assured" i tell myself, "it will change"

the story has not yet been printed

there is still time

a constant struggle

self-esteem

versus

will to live

an intense battle

a raging war

a clouded mind

a depressed young man

inferiority

is

me

I might have written that poem about myself once. I never did become like those I once envied, but now I see that as a good thing. I am myself, just as you are yourself, and we are both unique in the world. If this poem is an accurate description of you, Billy, you must hold firm until you find your niche, your place to be. You will find it, too, just as I did. You have skill with words, and not everybody does, so be proud of that. Sam

I agree with Sam (past reviewer). hang on, what you want will come, and if for some reason it doesn't. Well, then hold true to who you are, because your a wonderful no matter what flaws you may possess.
