BrokenA Poem by Doreen'It was written in the stars', they say. 'It's that twinkle in your eyes'. 'The heavens have sent you my way'. 'The angels have answered my cries'. Grasping the words that mean so much, wanting to believe they're not in vain; only to have everything turn to dust, to be left feeling broken again. 'I love you....but' - is what they say, but not enough to stay and try. They're all too quick to run away, the broken girl just sits and cries. Not good enough for Cupid's bow, the broken girl with too much wrong, and never will she ever know the melody of love's sweet song. A soul who's match does not exist. Upon the world to roam alone. So long her heart pushed to persist, ever slowly to be turned to stone. © 2010 DoreenAuthor's Note
