WillowA Poem by DoreenFor the tree you grew up with in your yard, playing on and around each day as you grew. This is for the nostalgia. She bows, succumbing to tears befallen her foliage after a slowly fading dawn; limbs of weighted sadness draped in dew. Majestic she stands, though timid in posture, hindered by the ages that have passed before her. Treasured secrets she holds of youth long past: chasing of rainbows, skinned knees and smiles made of sunshine. Disheartened she might be to think she’s been long forgotten; however, she will live in this heart forever. © 2015 DoreenAuthor's Note
