Chemistry

Chemistry

A Poem by Derek

Walking down isles of consumption,

Rushing by the lost eyes of tunnel vision.

Business, flowing with light’s momentum,

Panicked beats of heart, surrounding.

Memorized lists of tasks to complete,

Noticed, looking, and revitalizing lost feelings.

Chambered movements and thoughts,

Awesomeness and totality of the moment.

Eyes meet, with a fleeting glance,

Shyly turning, awkward juxtaposition of head,

Embarrassment, thrill, desire, attention.

Did he notice me, or are they just illusionary fantasies?

The space of the time passes, and seemed only temporary.

Gone, into the world, back into light’s pace.

Mercurial thoughts , shadows of effigies.

Six haphazardly glances in a short time, chemistry.
