Caffeine rules the day

Caffeine rules the day

A Poem by david r. lessard
"

Waking up in the morning.

"

I have a need of coffee,

upon my "waking" up;

if I don't get my fix,

why then, I tend to shlup.

I'm just a walking zombie,

bumping into things;

there's something in my eyelids,

that makes them want to cling.

Sleepy seeds my mother said,

the sand -man spreads them round;

and in the early hours,

on or in the eyes they're found.

Drip or instant, I don't care,

just get me java...quick;

I'm moving in slow motion,

my mind is dense and thick.

The first cup is most pleasant,

my brain is waking now;

a second cup is heaven,

and I concentrate on Tao.
