LostA Poem by david r. lessardlost in the maze of invisible wavesI'm a ship that has no rudder I flounder on the waves, spinning round in circles, through a mist filled haze. I can't see the far off shore, I cannot see the land, if the fog were thicker, I wouldn't see my hand. I must have lost my way last night, when the air was fraught with rain, but I'm not worried yet, I have not gone insane. Just a bit bewildered, by the space I cannot see, by the solitude around, by the absence of the sea. I bobble back and forth, like a cork upon a pond, and wonder if I'll ever, again, touch solid ground. © 2015 david r. lessard |
