a lion is in the streets...

a lion is in the streets...

A Poem by david r. lessard
"

an appearing angel of light can be deceiving...

"

a lion is roaming in the streets,

seeking to devour all he meets;

with deceptive tongue and speech,

manipulating all he can reach.

he is the fearsome father of all lies,

spreading honey, coating the flies;

appearing as an angel... bright,

he claims the title, prince of night.

cunning, clever, devious and dark,

he leaves an ugly, wretched mark;

cloaking the soul with sordid sin,

his goal, the innocent soul to win.

he calls you intolerant if you disagree,

nothing wrong with homosexuality;

nothing wrong with same sex lovers,

nothing immoral, under the covers.

many are helpless under his spell,

nothing is sinful,everything's swell;

all their doing, is having some fun,

but who, in the end, has really won?
