And DreamsA Poem by Aisha MndPoem written whilst feeling nostalgic about childhood. Excerpt: elusive childhood skips before me, dancing with rain beneath a dark sky/cerise balloons fly with the cool air of the nightelusive childhood skips before me, dancing with rain beneath a dark sky cerise
balloons fly with the cool air of the night and I am but
a passerby, gazing at the past with aching eyes and a heart brimmed
with bittersweet sentiments of how then had
been so wonderful and how now
my unmasked eyes are no longer witness to dreams, to those pulsating colours once seen through rose glass windows with young and vibrant eyes unknowing
and new like dawn yet to be tainted and disillusioned by truth.
(But I wonder, had then the truth been seen?)
oh, how I
wish I could join childhood, and ballet
beneath that secretive sky, whilst believing
I was each and all of my hopes, whilst
having no gold, naught but my
imagination
