Where Anything Can KillA Poem by Aisha MndWhere Anything Can Kill We need water. But it can kill us too. Drown us, seep into our air passages, throttle us. Take our breaths away. I choke, the bottle of water falls from my hold. Against the cold, marble floor, it crashes. Water trickles out, escapes, tries to find another container, it can conform to, and maybe kill. But, I'm thirsty. I still need water. I bend down, cease it, bring it back into my hold, caress the container, let the tasteless liquid rush down my throat. Then, I suddenly recall how water can kill us. The ironies Still Baffle Me. As I realize, I'm in a sadistic, perverse world, where anything can kill. Yet, I still live. It's 'cause I'm a predator too.
