Change.

Change.

A Poem by Drew

Black eyed peas where is the love?
He’s on his knees looking above.
You’re never there, you never care.
Now he wanders, coming from nothing, going nowhere.
At rock bottom, people forgot him.
No one knew him, full of seclusion
He had to choose but couldn’t do it.
Couldn’t lose it, couldn’t toose it.
Na, I mean tease it, had the keys set
In the ignition of his rendition,
Already lost it, Already tossed it,
Happened so fast, that’s why he forgot the past.
Flashed by, Crashed by, drive bye.
His friend dead, now he wondering why.
Shot in the head,  because of a lie.
Now he has to try, no more being shy.
No more being weak he heads for the street.
Needs to earn his keep, snitches need not peep.
Cause he’s not gonna hide it, out in the open.
U.S. open, U.S. broken, U.S. chosen,
not  by choice, he had no voice.
He walks into the city, down the line,
Walks out now doing time.
