Youth Against the Future

Youth Against the Future

A Poem by Emily
"

The style of this poem was kind of influenced by the way Velvet Underground songs tend to be set up. I don't usually write this way :)

"

Sit and listen to yesterday’s voices

Sit and listen to yesterday’s stars

Kneel  and pray by yesterday’s alter

Embrace your fate with open arms

          Enslave yourself to yesterday’s saviour

Enslave yourself to yesterday’s dreams

Sprawl in the dark of yesterday’s ruin

Let time slip away in tendrils of haze

Numb your life with yesterday’s poison

Numb your life with yesterday’s vice

Fade away like yesterday’s voices

Yesterday’s all that you had in your life

Everybody changes

Everything changes

Everybody changes

But you don’t

Author's Note

Emily
Yeah, I know it's repetitive. It was kind of intentional, and I don't normally do that. Thanks for reviewing!
