Disappointed?

Disappointed?

A Poem by Dreamwind
"

My son asked me, as a teen, "Mom, are you disappointed in me?" and this poem was what my heart said.

"

Disappointed?

In the night not being the day?

In the wind's indecision?

In the trees that do sway?

Finding your way,

Having your say,

How could I dismiss,

Your heart's happiness?

It's what I most wish for,

Your soul intact,

Your contented peace,

Your innocence back.

The joy of searching,

The world of tomorrow,

A whole future awaiting,

No room for sorrow.

But you'll find your place,

Among the stars,

You'll need your own voice,

To scream against the horrors,

Because,

Yes, you'll see them,

I can't close your eyes,

With bedtime stories...anymore,

Can't erase the nightmares,

By just closing the doors.

But my love will travel with you,

And my prayers will ever stay,

And my belief in whatever you do,

Will never go away.

Disappointed?

Not in a lifetime.

"I can't close your eyes,
With bedtime stories" is my favorite line. this poem is well-written and touching. i feel many people can relate to the feelings brought up, both of you and of your son.

This was just SOOOO the right answer! Only a parent can understand unconditional love...which helps us better understand God I think...that's the greatest blessing of having children of our own. Feeling that you are loved unconditionally by a supreme FORCE can help you get through a great deal in this life and give you stregth to tap into in times of doubt and need. I don't think our kids understand the depth of our love...but maybe someday...
