You Never Said My Feet Were Pretty

You Never Said My Feet Were Pretty

A Poem by Dreamwind

You never said my feet were pretty,
You never loved my eyes,

You never  kissed my nose...not any,
You  didn't like my thighs.

You reminded me of any flaw,
That the mirror might have missed,

You drew me close...then told them all,
Then finished with a kiss.

Now I"m confused,
And feeling used,

Verbal abuse?
Or just the clues...

Of unloveliness,
I"m discovering this,

I must admit,
I didn't see it,

For so long,
I thought the wrong...
Was mine.

But I"m just fine,
So get in line.

Cause I'm pretty,
From my hair,
To my toes,

And who knows,
Where the wind blows,

You just might envision,
Your reluctant admission,

When you again see my feet,
Barefoot, beautiful and free.

"Then finished with a kiss" is a cutting line. the ending is beautiful and touching, as it brings it full circle. i love this poem!
