Changed

Changed

A Poem by Dreamwind
"

Just thoughts of how things change when you give yourself.

"

Changed,

Arranged,

Country, instead of hip-hop,

Brooms, instead of clean mops,

T.V., instead of chosen movies,

Everything HE wishes and needs,

Nothing is the same,

Since you came,

Do you even remember my name?

I try to transform,

From my norm,

To look away,

From yesterday,

When I was happy, me, free,

I blink,

Try not to think,

Of how the sun shines,

Behind closed blinds,

And everything,

You touch,

That meant,

So much,

Was inferior,

The interior,

Of my heart,

That I did guard,

Now exposed,

Knows,

What a cage is,

Sealed with a kiss,

Decorated by another...lover,

Blind to my pain,

His gain,

Changed.

A lot hidden story in this poem. Changing for someone can happen with time and life together. The poem tell a story of change for the wrong reasons. We want to be with someone for who they are. Not what we can create. A powerful ending to a poem of a life struggling to be someone else. A excellent poem.

I think love accepts us just as we are...that what I learned about Jesus in the old spiritual...and that's some REAL love there!

Since when is "Love" about changing or being changed? You love someone as they are - NOT to change them into someone or thing else...

Poetry touches... this one does that.
