Abnormal

written in response to a "friend" saying I was abnormal, because I had a sword collection, among others.

Abnormal

 

Normal?

Or not?

Boring?

Or hot?

Strangely unique,

Or do you believe,

In someone else's fables,

Someone else's labels,

To blend right in,

And repent of your sin,

Or risk,

Being dismissed,

As,

Ab-

Normal,

The formal-y,

Rejected,

Defective,

Not accepted,

Where normals,

Belong,

Your song,

Is too risque,

Your way,

Is too distracting,

Attracting,

Others,

Like yourself,

Leaving the shelves,

To explore,

The unopened doors,

That normals deny,

And the "why"

Is their lie,

The fear,

Of your tears,

Might mirror,

Their inner,

Desires,

And the fire,

That ignites,

Might,

Light,

Up their souls,

And they would know,

The truth,

We are ALL uncouth,

All disarrayed,

All made,

Imperfectly perfect,

So...

Throw away the list,

"Normal",

Does not exist.
