Lost and Alone

Lost and Alone

A Poem by Tabitha Deasún
"

Memories are powerful. They can make you laugh or cry, raise you up or tear you down, and sometimes you'll want to forget them as much as you want to always remember.

"
Listening to a melody composed by memories

Of days that brought a smile to my face

So easily able to make me shed tears now

That my world is spinning out of control

Assaulting my senses with vivid detail

Not able to be halted by sleeps embrace

Dragging me deeper in its sorrowful arms

An inner struggle that I constantly lose

Lulled into false dreams that seem real

Only desiring to sink deeper within them

Never realizing until my eyes are opened

Every morning that they'll never be again

Author's Note

Tabitha Deasún
In this poem I wrote how remembering what was once happy memories following a break-up seemed to pull me deep, creating a world that holds back reality for a little in my dreams, and m akes it impossible for me to let go.
