Fear of Change

Fear of Change

A Poem by Tabitha Deasún
"

A forum I am on held a challenge. Requirement: 1st line of the poem from a song. I chose The End Is The End Is The Beginning by The Smashing Pumpkins. Shows a fear of change.

"

The pale princess of a palace cracked

Dancing on cliff's decaying edge

Just a hair's-breadth from

Falling

Senseless pleading breaks rosette lips

Begging an answer from howling wind

Clinging desperately to fading

Memories

Bruised hands grip archaic walls

Resisting the stalwart will of change

Frightened to leave what's already

Gone

I am not that great with poetry. It is hard for me to write unless in a certain mood. I'd like to improve, but please try not to be too harsh. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but there's a difference between Constructive Criticism and Outright Criticism.

No criticism from me...only high praise.
This is poem left me a bit melancholy.
Your stanzas are well connected.
I like the single word that ends each one.

Excellent writing!!!

Honestly I think this is very good and can't really see any criticisms to make, constructive or otherwise. TO me you Painted the picture of someone who not only feared changed but seemed to br oblivious to it until the very end, someone so aloof they didn't eve ln realize a new day was coming
Good work
