i don't think anyone can expect to be perfect, but it takes some type of perfection to admit our flaws...
and as we get older we learn just how much we don't really know...as we fade we seem to get wiser.
This is so strong...and titles really matter so much to me...and this one rocks...almost like it is a present to know that we are flawed...and can lower the expectations of ourselves and others, just a slight bit.

This reads as a lover's sweet words to a long term partner. It expresses well that feeling of not being good enough of the aging process as we slip from our former selves and feel ourself less than. I felt the deep regret in those final four lines. PS wondered if the penultimate line should have been 'with no excuse' ?

first of all, thank you for your review. And yes, blaming is no good; it's much more painful than departure.
human weakness ... how we do try to avoid it .. so bravo golden! bring it to light and lets talk about it .. your brave and vulnerable protagonist needs those eyes to be kind and true eh!? such a cycle your poem suggests could lead to destruction pretty quick i would guess :( we want to shine for our loved ones .. always ... but we share that human condition of ..."wrong" ;) when my kids were growing up we developed the "I'm Wrong Song" ... which consisted of the title being repeated emphatically many times over ... much to my chagrin, I was the one who instigated the "I'm Wrong Song" and was quickly brought to task to sing it by my 4 children ... but ... it was fun and cleansing in the end ;)) i love the brutal honesty of your poem .. and the vulnerability of your speaker .. very redeeming qualities says i! :)

As a matter of fact, I wrote that poem is a blink of an eye. It was painful seeing my good friend pushing me away with no reasons.. Destruction is a human mole, and there is no running away from it... but that's okay, because being wrong is healthy; otherwise, we'd reverse the human order. And we are no angels. I loved the idea of the "I am wrong song". It's been pretty fruitful I hope. I'd like to use that method to teach my children the power of apologizing someday. Again, thank you loads for your kind reviews!!

I also quoted a lot of Dale Carnegie to my kids ... his advice is when wrong, admit it immediately and emphatically ;) so we used the "I'm Wrong Song" ... I like what the Bible says about it the most: "Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison." Mathew 5:25
When we are wrong .... we are wrong by golly!! ;))))))))
