breakA Poem by Elizabeth Sthe wind brushes against her face but everything around her is quiet.
the grass is asleep. the trees are asleep. the sky is a silent ocean.
then something loud is coming her way and twenty boys storm across the gravel, pushing a shopping cart and blasting club music, every boy running and every boy yelling.
it lasts for five seconds and the boys are gone.
in endless silence, she continues her walk. © 2025 Elizabeth S |
