Dream Creatures

Dream Creatures

A Poem by dreaming dame
"

lost, and painfully found; then lost again. Love.

"

The X-Queen sighs,

Another lost night.

Her slumber, no more.

They plague her, taunt her.

Her confidence is dying.

Why is she Queen?!

She can't understand them;

     dream creatures.

They're dashing, exciting.

Oh, what torture.

She can't see what they think.

She cares about them; her friendly subjects.

But they never say.

And how she pays.

Her heart gets cold.

She's so lost.

Her fear brings frost.

There is no joy, no fun.

The X-Qeen sleeps, sleepless.

"Awake", says one.

Determined, she states,

"I need to know."

He approached, dark eyes,

filled with hidden, untold truths.

"that, my dear Queen, is a question you,

no, not even you, are ready to behold."

"No! I need to know. How else will I wake?"

A tear of defeat falls, heart filled with dire anguish.

His able body held her, and he whispered.

"'Tis no battle of power. Just wait.

We; I will tell. I promise."

And with this promise taken to heart,

The Queen sleeps.

...*blinks, rubs eyes*... wooooooow. I can't believe no one's reviewed yet! This feels so fragile and beautifull to me, so touching and almost intimate. But then, i do know this grey world like no one but we do, and i have grown pretty attached to its monsters too. :) Oh, X-Queen. You enjoy life in this beautifull woman's brain, don't you?

This poem made me feel chills right down to the bone. When I was finished with it I thought to myself, "Dang where did that come from," as I was in a kind of daze. It was that GOOD!!!!
