December Elegy

December Elegy

A Poem by df

In the tundras of the north
dwells a flame in ice,
in mighty fortresses of
the grief-stricken frost

Oh, how I long to be
the fuel.

to shake her out
of her flickering stupor
and dwindling ember,
letting melt her surroundings

to watch them fall around
like tears
