You left just like everyone said you would
I knew it was your time but I ignored it
Why can’t I just keep ignoring it?
You’re gone from this world for forever now
Please just let me ignore it
I have lost both parents and family has dwindled to a few people, and only one cousin I am close to.
Have dealt with this and understand the grief.
I never knew one Grandpa and one Grandma....
but loved the one Grandma I knew...she was the sweetest...lived in Jersey City where my dad was born.
We visited her a lot when we lived in the Bronx.
very sad.
This reminds me of how I felt/coped with my grandmother's passing. She was a wonderful and respectable woman that I had looked up to all my life. Some emotions are so difficult to process that it seems almost impossible, but you can process them..even if it takes a while.
Sam, found your friend request just now. Sorry I haven't visited sooner.
When a beloved relative dies, it takes time to heal. I'M sorry for your loss.
If it helps, she is free now. No pain, no suffering. And one day, you will rejoin her. Until then, cherish her wisdom and her memory.

The more we love the harder we hurt and there is Jack s**t we can do about it.
I'm so sorry for your loss Sam, chin up and let your feelings out through your talented pen.
Take care
.. you would eventually kick yourself if you did indeed ignore such a huge personal loss .. the thoughts & feelings you so eloquently describe & otherwise allude to here are perfectly natural under the circumstances ................................................................................................. Hurts doesn't it? Grief is the price we pay for loving. I can remember clearly the loss of both my grandmother's and the huge impact their loss had on me. We want to pretend it hasn't happened. It takes time for the grief to soften. Then you will be able to remember the good times without getting really upset. I can relate very much to this short poem. Sorry for your loss.
