A Peaceful DayA Poem by JennaThe day the world saw evil...remember 9/11
Time stood still that day when
The sparkling cerulean sky drank Those buckets of smoldering paint That forever tainted that immaculate skyline The acrylic chipped into layers And layers of torn emotions while The shadows dropped to the depths Like the heart of a wounded soldier. Yet the clock tipped forward A cut healing the moments of anger The tranquility sweeping tears Back into the duct where they remain Present and unforgotten like a memory In a film of stone. And the doves have washed their Tarnished feathers on the shore Of the Hudson Bay. © 2010 Jenna |
