Regret Not

Regret Not

A Poem by ND

I dont regret it. I probably should. I dont regret it... even if you do.

Im a bad person and you should act this way.

But you dont know what it feels like to live like
"this" every day.

Torn between two without a light at the end.

Breaking apart things you know that will never mend.

Im sorry that you live like you do.

Im sorry for everything but I still dont regret it even if you do.

It takes a brave person to go along with all this.

And I understand why you've lost your head and iced more than one bruised fist.

I still have the rose you gave me the last time you went.

It's older and darker but still beautiful there, a mamento of all the things that "we" meant.

Ill take your sweatshirt to bed and face your picture to the wall.

We're not together and it's my fault after all.

I can't shed another tear because this is on my back.

I can't keep looking and counting all the things that I lack.

I want to see the sun and dance in the rain.

I want to look you in the eye and tell you maybe one day.

I want you to accept that I care and accept that I mean that the future is the future and its all in our hearts.

We give and we take and we play foolish games till it tears us apart.

But you know what ...
I dont regret... not a tear or a cut.

I dont regret it. I probably should. I dont regret it... even if you do.
