Labyrinth Heart

Labyrinth Heart

A Poem by Yanina McKnight

You are truly beautiful.

I didn't know what I had;

I was clueless in an illusion of my mind;

I threw it all away,

disguised as a game in my eyes,

but you were always true.

Patience was all I needed,

but I chose to ignore the facts.

Was I scared from something true,

as those feelings?

I want to believe I loved you,

even though my desire was only to have fun.

We could have been great.

Nothing is worse than seeing you today,

looking into your lovely eyes,

the everlasting pain I endure

because of my silly ignorance.

I deserve it in the end, for my faults are true.

I know you so well, yet not at all.

With great foolishness on my part,

I lost deeply a treasure

I so truly am fond of.

A great write Yanina... I really liked that stanza and where you said patience was all you needed. It's so true... sometimes we are not willing to be patient and we end up losing something that could have been great. An awesome write... don't be shy ... send me read requests for your work :)
