fallen bird

fallen bird

A Poem by drea

Mornings last note-
leaden trill
back broke
a songbirds last stand.

Impersonal closed toes
a glance but nothing more
sunlight memorial
on the sidewalk crack.

An end
in a beginning
energy damn at dawn
decomposition,
frenzied encore to mortality song.
