A Moment

heartbreak is a physical response to intense emotion

you can feel it in your chest and your stomach

it squeezes you tight and doesn't let go.

if you have never felt it you are cynical,

you hate how no one can write about anything other than love

you hate that all music is about the same thing

and, you hate this piece as well.

heartbreak is a common emotional tie to all human beings.

even if you have never been intimate, you will feel it.

it is as common as death and as catching

it is as the wind blows on all of our faces and catches us in the moment begging for a second touch.
