In My Sea

In My Sea

A Poem by Raymond Dunn
"

Let this one speak to you. I don't need to say much more than what my tired fingers have typed.

"

In the Sea, my Sea

In my depths, my territory,

blindly I look into this abyss

and find not myself,

but a New World

with no outstanding Order

No pronounced boundaries-

only fault lines and ridges.

I feel darkness…

it creeps upon my shoulders

and bears two Millstones-

burdens my heart and breath.

Achingly I lay

in salty blood and waste…

waiting for a reason-

Waiting for a current-

a charge within the dead

that lay within these depths.

I am weightless-

I am formless-

I am meaningless

without that meaning-

What meaning?

I don’t know reason

beyond these depths

of salty blood and dreams-

dreams gone to waste.

I only rest with no wake,

but that of the crashing waves

that I perceive above me.

Still-

I lay here in my depths-

my territory-

my dreamscape and homeland-

my shelter-

my Darkness-

alive, considering

the pressure that bears upon me.
