Overhaunt: Amanda

Overhaunt: Amanda

A Poem by Doctor Deathstab

Her little heart beats its last heartbeat

We cover her corpse in a big white sheet

A slab at the morgue is where she sleeps

With a tag on a toe upon her feet

I dance with a princess of rotting meat

She’s cold and stiff, but she’s still a treat

I laugh and I love someone pure and sweet

But she’s gone away on the long retreat

I miss her so though her corpse is near

The light she shed I held so dear

Now that she’s gone the rest will fade

And my mood will sink to a gloomy shade

The milk is spilled and I should move on

But the will I had is nearly gone

She gave me hope and the words to pray

But now I’m not sure what to say

a lost lover.... tragic.
so often love gets destroyed, whether two fated are drawn away by death or by lust and jealousy.
so sad....
but a treat anyway.
