The Wrong GirlA Poem by CJKurtzLove poem
I stepped outside
To walk my date To her father's car When I returned They wouldn't allow me Back into the dance So, we danced You in the gym Me in the doorway You were beautiful I'm your black dress And more - you were lovely There was a kindness to your manner A simplicity The knowledge that you Didn't have to waste your time with me But you did anyway - By choice - free will The music played You in my arms I wondered If maybe I'd been chasing The wrong girl All that time © 2023 CJKurtz |
