One Moment (for Veronica)A Poem by CJKurtzLove poem
When I was a senior
You were a sophomore You were so beautiful- Long dark hair Long legs Copper colored skin And eyes like headlights Racing at you At over 100 miles per hour You dated some of my friends Everyone wanted a piece of you I never got the chance to ask But we shared one moment That I've never forgotten Although you probably have - I don't blame you if you have We both played goalie For intramural hockey and You needed help with your Goalie pads I knelt on the ground before you - Straight up - hard-core goddess Helped you put them on Making the other guys looking on...jealous Because I was closer to heaven Than they would ever be © 2023 CJKurtz |
