Misplaced

Misplaced

A Poem by drcornelius

Nicolai told me

He lost his head

Wasn’t under his pillow

Nor under his bed

Not behind the dresser

Or behind the door

So he tore up some boards

And looked under the floor

He examined his underwear

Looked in his shoes

He checked his toy train

Even shook the caboose

He asked his sister

His father and mother

He even asked his

Imaginary brother

He looked in the mirror

And then said “What the heck!"

"It was there all along

Right on top of my neck"
