Entropy

Entropy

A Poem by drave

Even in a cold room beer sweats
Cool drops running down the side

My favorite proof of entropy

I'm out of cigarettes
And without even looking up
I recognize the click-snap-strike of a Zippo
From across the room

I think a moment about the power of addiction
And walk over to bum a smoke
Off of a complete stranger

A very well written poem! So vivid and descriptive. I love the first line, it captures you immediately. Everything is interconnected and shows exactly how in tune people are to their addictions. I love that you used a Zippo as the lighter, the best lighters ever (I'm not a smoker, just a pyro). A great slice of reality with this poem, true and honest. Well done.
