Better'n Me

Better'n Me

A Poem by Archipelago
"

again, just something that came to mind

"

I can’t feel the rain anymore anyway

Don’t bother trying, I’ll beat you at your own game

I’ve been here since the beginning, I’m still here

Aren’t I? What makes you think you can come along

Walking like there’re balloons in your a*s

Talking trash like you’re better than everyone?

I see you out on the obstacle course, failing

Balance beam walk on the street lines, flailing

Boxing in back alleys with no refs, wailing

And getting wailed on, you can’t fight

You can’t drive drunk or high, you can’t hide

When the lights come on and the sirens out

Maybe you should stay in the trailer

Maybe you should stay down south

I don’t think you can handle the cold

I’ll watch and wait until you’re frozen

And I’ll be sitting there, mocking you, toasty and toasted

You set a clean slate and a new life that you want to get trashy and wasted

I’m sorry I know, you’re doing your best,

But seriously, who do you think is impressed?

Who’s this all for, why are you going so wrong?

I hope it isn’t me because you shouldn’t have the balls

You already ended that pretty ugly, you should never come back

You said it yourself: yer better’n me
