Tomato Eyes

Tomato Eyes

A Poem by Archipelago

old poem, finished editing

Breathing quiet

Deep and slow

In and out, up and down

Take your time

We'll be just fine

Here in the headlights' glow

Buzzzzzzzing by

The busy bees fly

Moving about their business

Just close your eyes

They're harmless

If you stay out of their way

Scary shining

Eight lightless eyes

Staring down at us

Don't be afraid

Be on your guard

And don't get caught

In their nets

Ladybugs

I call them safety bugs

Because they always come around

When you need a little luck

And sit there pretty for you

And cheer you up

The flashing lights go by

Fools, the spiders show themselves

It gives us time to hide

Get lower, sleepy angel

We'll be safe here

Let me count your spots
