"Fallout"

"Fallout"

A Poem by what-the-frick

The second you left,

Truly left,

The world became black.

Swallowing my world into nothing.

No blue could compare to your eyes.

Like cloudless skies.

I filled the empty void

With equally empty seconds.

Reciting broken promises,

Reliving the past.

Certain that you'd come back.

But I'm still waiting.

And the trust is fading.

And I'm writing poems,

While you're .. God only knows.

I'm scrutinizing you,

Breaking every little detail down.

Until it shatters to the ground.

I know things won't turn around.

You're more lost than found.

And I say I'm leaving, but I don't.

I'm missing you. But I'm alone.
