"Brokenhearted"

"Brokenhearted"

A Poem by what-the-frick
"

Losing my best friend.

"

I’ve felt the fade for awhile,

The slight disconnect,

Empathy transforms

Into annoyance.

Days are full of stop-watch activities,

A few laughs, a few tears, some inside jokes.

I stay in the shadows,

As you do what you said you never could:
Live without me.

It’s the difference between

Making someone your entire world,

And realizing that you aren’t even …

In theirs …

I’d rescind if I could,

What bonded us.

Go back to my life,

Without you,

Without this pain.

Without this heartbreak.

Let the fade … go to black.
