"Worthless"

SMT

You can’t have me,

So you surrender

All that you could be,

In favor of mediocrity.

 

You don’t want me,

So you ignore my pleas

Turn your back as I cry,

Until all hope held dies.

 

You don’t need me,

So you let time lapse

And I anxiously wait,

As you finish last.

 

You don’t love me,

Not enough to save face

So you walk out of my life,

Without a trace …

Love the poem, love how each stanza kicks off with a variation of the line which gives it a totally different angle and context, and how all the stanza's fit in to tell a story is marvellous. Great poetry :)
