"Decimate"

"Decimate"

A Poem by what-the-frick

I can crush your hopes,

Banish your confidence,

And make you relive

Every single second.

All the rash decisions,

Feelings magnified,

All while searching for a way out.

But these words,

My words,

Will keep you enslaved.

Against your wishes.

You’ll hear that song,

You know the one ...

And you’ll trip over your memories.

Racing to get back,

Desperate for that high.

It won’t sate for long.

Then you’ll inhale

the delicious, addictive perfume.

Taste the kisses,

Promises.

Mirror that.

Until you come back for more.

A tantalizing and invigorating poem. It has a powerful edge and it keeps you attached to it. Excellent!

Oh my gosh. This is really good writing. I could see the images and everything. I like how you made it say "mirror that". That was the best part for me.
