"How a Heart Breaks"

"How a Heart Breaks"

A Poem by what-the-frick

When my heart falls, crying to the ground,
I reach out to you.
But you retract your hand.
And I'm left staring,
At where our friendship used to be..

Take my hand and we'll make it, I swear
You just don't care.
I could be your saving grace.
The fact that I have,
Slips your memory, like sand through the crevices.

I can't look back,
I see all the signs I missed,
Laughing in my face.
So I look forward,
And I accept
That I will not see you there.

Beautiful poem. I can always feel such raw emotion in your writing.
