"Saffron"

"Saffron"

A Poem by what-the-frick

Poisonous, in large amounts.
Just trust me, open your mouth.
I'll charm you, remove any doubt.
Til you're wishing there was some way out.

It's the passion, that leaves no survivors,
I'd rather die, than see you beside her,
You can cry out, see the wrath that incurs,
Life before me becomes a blur.

I need you, and you'll need me, too,
No question, I'll make sure you do.
Repeat "I love you", til the words ring true,
Wicked smile, as you say, "I do".

I can't put my finger on it exactly but when I read this I felt a deep ache in me. So I read it a few more times and I still can't explain it but it stabs at a pain in me for some reason in a way few things I've read ever have. Extremely well written and I certainly commend you for provoking such emotion. It's what writings should do.
