Unique Like YouA Poem by Amethyst RoseWe are all the same but differentI am no different than you. Draped by a costume made of pearls, delicately picked from the fishermans' spoils. Oh, how I must mention, The different masks I wear are for certain situations.
My breath caressed by the purifying trees, I sit and wonder on begging knees. My dreams carried beyond the moon by the sea Looking upward and away from all these lying thieves.
I wish just once that you may see me, but wishing I've learned is only for the weak, "Oh, how I hate this was taken from me."
Confidence and smiles I made into a cloak, one more barrier I hope will not leave me for broke.
I cry in the rain, for the earths' tears and my own are unfortunately no one's concern.
I've worked and I toiled for my keepsakes My values, my views and all my mistakes. Leaning upon all that I learned; Just to find this teacher, who is not my own.
I've learned not to believe in different lies people speak, or to even believe in the way their body creeps.
You may not believe in the good of me, but the voices of my past can assure you that Im unique.
Not one to hold onto anguish and bitterness I look deeper just to find what's in those buried intentions?
Even though it's taken time and patience to see I know I can always be me. © 2012 Amethyst Rose |
