red snow

red snow

A Chapter by yally

The coldness caught my breath as I gasped. I watched my friends, family, and people that I lived with; people that I love, falling.

There were silent tears , tears that would forever be frozen on my face, on my soul, and heart.

Red snow covered everything. The bloods of my brothers and sisters was everywhere. The pain was all that I could see.

Looking around, I saw people from both sides who were falling into pools of red. Mothers, children, and fathers were all crying and lying there, just staring into the sky with empty eyes; soul-less eyes.

When looking through the crowd of the crying and the dead, something caught my eye, then I saw it crying out. But it was to late. Laying there on the perfect snow, that perfect snow that went so well with her skin, but now stained red, surrounded her.

And with that she was gone, using her last breath to say she loved me. I cried out in agony as I held onto her, calling her name over and over again. After what seemed like hours I stood up. Everything slowed, and I watched the sorrowfull battle in slow motion.

I felt my rage then, and I grabbed my sword, attacking with all that rage and angst and sorrow that I  felt, and I saw my father crying with me, fighting beside me.

I felt a pain in my right shoulder; one of the men had gotten me with an arrow. Moments later, my father rushed to my side. I couldn't hear him , but I saw his lips moving. There was a searing pain in my shoulder, and I screamed. All my senses came back in a rush, which then, I  saw my fathers face. " Mars, you have to leave. I love you okay, you listen to me and go with Kat and her family. Promise me that you wont be angry with me. Promise!"

I just nodded. I felt hands wrap around my waist, and I looked up to see a unfamiliar guy, maybe the son of Kat's family. He was young, around my age. Kat and her family, including her son, ran with me for the woods. Away from my father, and from the war. I let a single tear escape as I watched my father spread his black wings, and in pain from the loss of my love , and for those lost in battle . My father cried out. Then there was a brilliant bright light, like the light they say you see when you die, and in that moment my father turned to me and smiled. Then everything disappeared, I disappeared. My life was gone.
