Why the Moon

Why the Moon

A Poem by Ah Puch
"

Why is it always the moon.

"

Why do wolves look to the moon?
what do they see in the waning light

The moon, why the sad moon?
turning away
It’s children die without
Turning back only to be ashamed
And turning away again

Why not the stars?
the stars that always burn brightly
That guide lost souls home
Always making sure they are watched over
Rather than turning away at the shameful

Why do the wolves look to the moon?
the strong brave wolves, to the moon
Can’t they see it is ashamed of this earth

Why not to the stars?
always sharing their light
Always loving even after their death
Never caring about shameful things done

The non-capitalized letter at the beginning of the second line in each stanza is on purpose. Just thought you'd like to know. This is brought to you by Randa.

I love your imagery in this. Very deep, but the words don't flow too well. Good job.

About
First off, the name: Ah Puch is the Mayan god of death, we almost put Anubis, but we thought that was over done a bit. Second, the Royal 'We': This is not in fact a 'royal' we, it is more the fact .. more..
